CONTRACTOR OF THE YEAR
Was formed for greater acknowledgement between construction contractors and a co-operative effort to Award the best in the industry across Canada. We intend on leading the Canadian Construction Contractor industry, advancing the success of contractors through technical expertise, standards of practice and collaboration with industry partners. The Contractor of The Year consists of the best companies actively engaged in Canada in the Construction, Renovation, and Building industry and related contracting business, along with companies engaged in manufacturing or supplying materials and services used in any branch of the construction industry.

The Contractor of the Year Awards winners will be formally recognized at an awards ceremony Friday December 6, 2019 and also in Contractor of the Year magazine.
JUDGING PROCESS
All entries for The Contractor of the Year Awards are clients, associates or self-nominated through the completion of the initial on-line nomination form. All entry forms will be read and longlisted by independent assessors. A panel of judges then meets to consider any supporting evidence and assess each question on the entry forms to determine a shortlist of finalists and the winners for each award.
The judging panel consists of experts in General Contracting, Interior Design, Construction Management, Plumbing and many other trades representing all the 70 categories in the awards. In these categories, the judges will give a score for each entry. Winners in the categories will be chosen by the judging panel with due care, consideration and weight to a variety of factors. A maximum of five nominations will be shortlisted in each category based on a detailed evaluation of the nomination form, information submitted by companies and research conducted by the panel. Theses top 5 will be honoured at the Awards.
The shortlist will be announced week commencing October 21st, 2019.
The complexity of the judging process and make-up of the judging panel is designed to ensure the integrity and creditability of the awards. The judges will be looking for the highest standards of excellence, professionalism and innovation in each of the award categories.

Confidentiality
All material will remain confidential to the judges. Winning companies may be used in post-event materials to promote best practices and permission will be sought from entrants before publishing these.
